Paris Hilton and the Dark Side of Fame

Paris Hilton, media darling and celebutante, got a harsh lesson in the downside of publicity and media attention this week, with her "will she, won't she" jail sentence. Just shows how quickly the media can turn on you.

And now it seems even the judge and the sheriff of LA are courting media attention with their Paris tug of war. Seems everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame on this one.

No one has come off well in this whole sad, sorry affair and it's hard to say whether "justice" has really been served. But the real story is how our media has become corrupted by its endless search for salacious material to make a quick buck.
